We know it can be daunting to start something new, which is why we are very proud to offer our new students a FREE TRIAL for our Performance Programs and Dance and Drama Classes!
The only classes not included in this are our SENIORS Performance Program as it is an higher level auditioned course and STUDIOS Private Voice Lessons due to timetabling restrictions.
But there are still LOTS of things to try...
We can be found most days at the Redlands Memorial Hall (44 Smith Street) in Cleveland.
Advanced Jazz and Intermediate/Senior Ballet and Tap can be found inside O Block of Cleveland District State High School (150 Russell Street)
MADAGASCAR JR (Prep to Grade 5)
Join Alex the Lion, Marty the Zebra, Melman the Giraffe, and Gloria the Hippo as they bound onto your stage in the musical adventure of a lifetime, based on the smash DreamWorks animated motion picture, Madagascar!
Alex the lion is the king of the urban jungle, the main attraction at New York's Central Park Zoo. He and his best friends have spent their whole lives in blissful captivity before an admiring public and with regular meals provided for them. Not content to leave well enough alone, Marty lets his curiosity get the better of him and makes his escape - with the help of some plucky, prodigious, plotting penguins - to explore the world.
Filled with outlandish characters, adventure galore and an upbeat score, MADAGASCAR JR follows our friends as they escape from their home in New York's Central Park Zoo and find themselves on an unexpected journey to the madcap world of King Julien's tropical island of Madagascar, where they're left with no choice but to "Move It, Move It!"
INTERMEDIATES (Grades 6 to 8)
Take a walk down Hollywood Boulevard, as we explore the magic of shows both on Stage and on Screen!
Many movies and musicals are household names, but not all of us know their origins. Some of our most beloved shows started their life as a children's book, others as a weekly cartoon character, and some starting as movies turning into musicals then turning into the final movie musical we all know and love!
This Semester our 2019 Intermediate students will be working in a new format, with two classes running on a Friday afternoon to allow smaller class sizes, more personalised training, and a more rewarding experience for all students. The first week of term we will hold a casting session to split the group into Intermediates 1 (Fridays 4:00-5:45pm) and Intermediates 2 (Fridays 5:45-7:30pm) with the full cast coming together during our Sunday rehearsals, and extended Tech and Dress rehearsals to piece together one excellent extravaganza worthy of the big screen!
ROCKIT DANCE (Grade 3 to 12 and beyond...)
Our Full-Term classes will build and develop student's skills in JAZZ, BALLET and now TAP with Technical Training and Musical Theatre Choreography with our wonderful head of dance, George Canham.
One of the biggest concerns we hear from parents is "What level is right for my child?" and knowing if they're in the right group. Some Grade 7 students want to be pushed further and some in Grade 12 need to start with the basics. At ROCKIT Dance, we aim to place students in the best class for them according to ability, rather than age, across multiple streams with the freedom to move into whichever course they feel suits them best (And with some guidance from the ROCKIT Team of course!) we hope students can find the class that suits them most and grow each week!
ROCKIT DRAMA (Grade 3 to 12 and beyond...)
Rounding out our trio of extension classes, ROCKIT DRAMA is a fresh, exciting class for students wanting to develop their acting skills and step up their on stage performance!
At ROCKIT Productions we truly believe that any moment on stage should be driven by a dramatic purpose. Even when singing and dancing, acting should be intertwined throughout both the creation and performance. Led by our incredible team of working professionals, these classes will take our young performers to the next level!
