Lighting Thief - FULL.jpg

As the half-blood son of a Greek god, Percy Jackson has newly-discovered powers he can't control, a destiny he doesn't want, and a mythology textbook's worth of monsters on his trail. When Zeus's master lightning bolt is stolen and Percy becomes the prime suspect, he has to find and return the bolt to prove his innocence and prevent a war between the gods. But to succeed on his quest, Percy will have to do more than catch the thief. He must travel to the Underworld and back; solve the riddle of the Oracle, which warns him of betrayal by a friend; and come to terms with the father who abandoned him.

This drama-desk award nominated adaption of the best-selling book, THE LIGHTNING THIEF by Rick Riordan opened on Broadway in 2019.

Featuring a thrilling original rock score, THE LIGHTNING THIEF: The Percy Jackson Musical is an action-packed mythical adventure "worthy of the gods" (Time Out New York).

Classes run following the QLD State School Calendar, observing QLD Public Holidays.

In preparation for our Grade 9's moving into the Senior program, we require all INTERMEDIATE students enrol in one weekly technical dance class. This could be one of our beginner classes (Intro To Ballet, Intro to Jazz) or one of our streamed Jazz or Ballet classes in the weekly timetable.

There will be a few Full Day Rehearsals throughout the Semester to help us bring the production together. These dates are:

Saturday 3rd August

Saturday 24th August

Saturday 19th October

As we near closer to the show, we extend our rehearsals a little longer (4:00pm -7:30pm) so that we can run the show with costumes within the rehearsal time.

These dates are:

Friday 1st, 8th, 15th and 22nd November.

Each of our Musical Theatre performance programs run over two terms, full fees and discounts are viewable HERE.

A Costume Hire fee of $70 (inc. GST) will be added to your first term Invoice so the team can get your costumes ordered and ready for dress rehearsals.

We always endeavour to keep costume costs at a minimum, so some simple items (like black basics, undergarments, and shoes) will be supplied by students while the more complex costumes will be supplied by ROCKIT Productions.

We know that the cost of living is greatly affecting our community so we have introduced our 2024 DISCOUNT PACKAGE to help ease the load. Check it out HERE.

Basically, the more classes you add, the more you save!

We do not expect fees to be paid in advance each term as these packages can really add up, so we offer a number of payment plan options with our direct debit partner PayAdvantage.

ROCKIT is a safe space.

At ROCKIT, we take pride in fostering a safe and supportive environment. By removing dance competitions and examinations, we prioritise a positive and inclusive atmosphere promoting body positivity and self-confidence.

Here, each student can freely explore their creativity and talents without fear of judgment.
