(ELITE Musical Theatre Performance Program)

Heathers Logo.jpg

HEATHERS THE MUSICAL: High School Edition is the darkly delicious story of Veronica Sawyer, a brainy, beautiful teenage misfit who hustles her way into the most powerful and ruthless clique at Westerberg High: the Heathers. But before she can get comfortable atop the high school food chain, Veronica falls in love with the dangerously handsome new kid J.D. When Heather Chandler, the Almighty, kicks her out of the group, Veronica decides to bite the bullet and kiss Heather’s aerobicized butt... but J.D. has another plan for that bullet.

Brought to you by the award-winning creative team of Kevin Murphy (Reefer Madness, Desperate Housewives), Laurence O’Keefe (Bat Boy, Legally Blonde) and director Andy Fickman (Reefer Madness, She’s the Man), HEATHERS THE MUSICAL: High School Edition is a hilarious, heartfelt and homicidal new show based on the greatest teen comedy of all time.

Auditions for this production will be held over 2 days;

ROUND 1  -  Wednesday 24th January (4 to 7:45pm)

Auditionees will be split into small groups and called for a 75 minute session.

CALLBACKS  -  Saturday 27th January (11am to 5pm)

Not all auditionees will be required at callbacks.

We try to make our auditions as fun as possible! This is certainly not meant to be a stressful day although we know that most of our SENIORS are perfectionists. We like to workshop items and play to find the best role for each person

Weekly classes will be held from 5 to 7:30pm on Wednesday afternoons at ROCKIT LAUNCHPAD STUDIOS (36 Old Cleveland Rd, Capalaba, 4157) starting on Wednesday 31st January 2024.

Classes run following the QLD State School Calendar, observing QLD Public Holidays.

The only prerequisite for joining our SENIORS Program outside the audition, is one weekly technical dance class. This could be one of our Adult beginner classes (Intro To Ballet, Intro to Jazz) or one of our streamed Jazz or Ballet classes in the weekly timetable.

There will be a few Full Day Rehearsals throughout the Semester to help us bring the production together. These dates are:

Saturday 17th Februaury

Saturday 16th March

Saturday 20th April

Saturday 11th May

As we near closer to the show, we extend our rehearsals a little longer (4:30pm -8:30pm) so that we can run the show with costumes within the rehearsal time.

These dates are:

Wednesday 29th May, 5th, 12th and 19th June.

Each of our Musical Theatre performance programs run over two terms, full fees and discounts are viewable HERE.

A Costume Hire fee of $70 (inc. GST) will be added to your first term Invoice so the team can get your costumes ordered and ready for dress rehearsals.

We always endeavour to keep costume costs at a minimum, so some simple items (like black basics, undergarments, and shoes) will be supplied by students while the more complex costumes will be supplied by ROCKIT Productions.

We know that the cost of living is greatly affecting our community so we have introduced our 2024 DISCOUNT PACKAGE to help ease the load. Check it out HERE.

Basically, the more classes you add, the more you save!

We do not expect fees to be paid in advance each term as these packages can really add up, so we offer a number of payment plan options with our direct debit partner PayAdvantage.

ROCKIT is a safe space.

At ROCKIT, we take pride in fostering a safe and supportive environment. By removing dance competitions and examinations, we prioritise a positive and inclusive atmosphere promoting body positivity and self-confidence.

Here, each student can freely explore their creativity and talents without fear of judgment.
