(ELITE Musical Theatre Performance Program)

A Chorus Line - FULL.jpg

A CHORUS LINE is a stunning concept musical capturing the spirit and tension of a Broadway chorus audition. Exploring the inner lives and bittersweet ambitions of professional Broadway performers, the show features one powerhouse number after another.

Memorable musical numbers include "What I Did for Love, "One," "I Can Do That," "At the Ballet," "The Music and the Mirror," and "I Hope I Get It." A brilliantly complex fusion of song, dance, and compellingly authentic drama, A CHORUS LINE was instantly recognised as a classic.

A CHORUS LINE is a celebration of the human spirit, showcasing the artistry, dedication, and heart of the performers who bring theatre to life. Through its raw and authentic portrayal of the audition process, the musical remains a timeless tribute to the joys and struggles of the performing arts.

We try to make our auditions as fun as possible! This is certainly not meant to be a stressful day although we know that most of our SENIORS are perfectionists. We like to workshop items and play to find the best role for each person

Weekly classes will be held from 5 to 7:30pm on Wednesday afternoons at ROCKIT LAUNCHPAD STUDIOS (36 Old Cleveland Rd, Capalaba, 4157) starting on Wednesday 10th July 2024.

Classes run following the QLD State School Calendar, observing QLD Public Holidays.

The only prerequisite for joining our SENIORS Program outside the audition, is one weekly technical dance class. This could be one of our Adult beginner classes (Intro To Ballet, Intro to Jazz) or one of our streamed Jazz or Ballet classes in the weekly timetable.

There will be a few Full Day Rehearsals throughout the Semester to help us bring the production together. These dates are:

Saturday 31st August

Saturday 5th October

Saturday 26th October

As we near closer to the show, we extend our rehearsals a little longer (4:00pm -8:30pm) so that we can run the show with costumes within the rehearsal time.

These dates are:

Wednesday 13th, 20th, 27th November & 4th December

To help foster as spirit of camaraderie and fun, we hold an annual 30hr non-stop Camp-Out at the studio before the EKKA Public Holiday. This forms part of the rehearsal process, as well as a cast-bonding exercise.

Saturday 10th August and overnight to Sunday 11th August

Each of our Musical Theatre performance programs run over two terms, full fees and discounts are viewable HERE.

A Costume Hire fee of $70 (inc. GST) will be added to your first term Invoice so the team can get your costumes ordered and ready for dress rehearsals.

We always endeavour to keep costume costs at a minimum, so some simple items (like black basics, undergarments, and shoes) will be supplied by students while the more complex costumes will be supplied by ROCKIT Productions.

A Camp-Out Fee of $100 (inc. GST) will be added to your first term Invoice to cover food and all resource expenses for the weekend.

We know that the cost of living is greatly affecting our community so we have introduced our 2024 DISCOUNT PACKAGE to help ease the load. Check it out HERE.

Basically, the more classes you add, the more you save!

We do not expect fees to be paid in advance each term as these packages can really add up, so we offer a number of payment plan options with our direct debit partner PayAdvantage.

ROCKIT is a safe space.

At ROCKIT, we take pride in fostering a safe and supportive environment. By removing dance competitions and examinations, we prioritise a positive and inclusive atmosphere promoting body positivity and self-confidence.
